Grove
Product Prepare & Review
05 · Prepare & Review

A drafted return, ready for your review.

Grove reads the workpapers, drafts the 1040 and every schedule that applies, and runs diagnostics before you open the file. Spend your time reviewing — not entering.

Grove drafts the 1040 from six source docs (W-2 through 1098), fills the YoY line table as each finishes, flags the dividends anomaly + Schedule D confirmation, then surfaces a missed Saver's Credit that bumps the refund from $3,412 to $5,512.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Does Grove file the return or just draft it?

Grove drafts and reviews. E-filing is on the near roadmap. Until then, exports drop into your existing prep platform (ProConnect, Lacerte, UltraTax CS, Drake) for e-file.

Which forms and schedules are supported?

1040 with Schedules 1, 2, 3, A, B, C, D, E, SE, and common forms (8606, 8889, 8880, 8863, 2441, etc.). Schedule the demo for the full current list.

How does Grove handle complex situations like basis tracking, depreciation, AMT?

Basis is tracked per security and per K-1 across years. Depreciation schedules carry forward. AMT is computed in parallel with regular tax. Edge cases are surfaced for human judgment, not silently calculated.

What if Grove gets something wrong?

Every figure is overridable, and Grove flags low-confidence values rather than burying them. The draft is a starting point, not the final word.

Are diagnostics customizable per firm?

Yes. Add firm-specific checks (e.g., "always flag charitable above $X") on top of the built-in diagnostic library.

Can I integrate with my existing prep software?

Yes — exports to the major prep platforms today. Direct API integration is in private beta with select partners.

Ready when you are

Review the return, don't retype it.
